It looks sturdier than a light table to me.

I have a grant coming up (QRIS microgrant). I'd like a light table, but I have more infants and toddlers, no preschoolers. I like the remote control feature, too.

What do you think?

If you have one, what are your experiences?

All my supplies are in the closet of the room kids are napping in, so I'll have to wait until they awake. But I believe I have all the supplies to make the following.

OR another option

last year, the kids melted down clear colored pony beads to make sun catchers for mother's day gifts. I think I'll let the kids do that again, but save their creations for the light table.

Oh, I'm so excited! Almost can't wait for naptime to be over. What?! What did I just say?!!

Update:made my light box. Can't say it was a total fail, but I was a little disappointed with the results. The light wasn't very bright. I didn't have enough tin foil and maybe that helps reflect more light to the top of the box. So I just covered the sides and bottoms with black construction paper. I used light weight white paper on the top. (All this paper on the inside of the box) put in my lights and felt like it just wasn't bright enough. Maybe I need more lights? I melted a bunch of beads for the kids to use on top. Those look fun, but my box needs work yet....

Update to the update : I replaced the Christmas lights with a "trouble " light - like mechanics use when working on cars. It was much brighter but does warm the box a lot. I was worried it would burst into flames after 20 minutes or so of use. but the kids absolutely loved it!! If I got a grant, I would purchase a light box and use it with all kinds of sensory play.
