What's your favorite?

My kids love water beads & water/ice/eye droppers the most.

I am lazy.....well in regard to changing out the sensory table. I have rice in mine and they love it every day! What I do change out are the containers, scoops, funnels, etc. I add mini jack-o-lantern buckets in the fall, etc.

Water beads but they drive me crazy with breaking them (squishing in between their fingers) so I haven't done them in awhile.

They love dry beans.

I work with babies so our sensory activities need to be safe and edible. We do things like water with rubber duckies, oats, grits, and anything else I can think of. Today I used rice krispies.

My kids favorite is the water beads - or anything with water. Their second favorite is insta snow - http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/...t/instant-snow

Water beads by far! Especially water beads and shaving cream, its a HUGE hit, but really any time the water beads are out they are in heaven

The also like Insta snow, Moon sand, glow in the dark water with crystals & gems

I have a sensory table activity that I do when we do our gardening theme. I start day one with top soil, shovels, and small pots. Day 2 I add "worms" that I got from the fishing section in Walmart. They are the rubber brown realistic looking ones. I don't usually tell the kids and make sure to bury them in the soil. Day 3 I add seeds. Day 4 I add silk flowers for that day and day 5.

Oh, that looks so gross!

Last May I did a Worms unit and bought a bunch of rubber worms - the kids LOVED them! I didn't like the way they felt, but the kids didn't seem to mind.

Please be careful with rice and beans. The children can aspirate them in to their lungs. VERY dangerous.

My favorite is grass seed because I love how it feels. I usually present it with baskets, tea baskets (don't know what these are really called, but little tiny basket scoops on a stick that you can put tea leaves into), and wooden scoops (it sifts through the baskets somewhat).

Oatmeal
Animal bedding made from ground corn cob
thistle seeds are silky black
seeds or grains of any kind
mud
white flour with whole wheat kernels
sand
digging dirt
dried spaghetti and macaroni noodles - sometimes colored
rice
water

I feel so strongly about sensory that I think it should be a regulation that children be exposed to it every day
