What do you do as far as sunscreen application?

I have been using spray sunscreen, brought in by the parents, for their child's "second coat" in the afternoon when we go out. The "first coat" of sunscreen is applied by the parents prior to arrival and we go outside shortly after they arrive. My state requires me to wash my hands prior to and after each sunscreen application. Spray sunscreen are QUICK and allow me to sunscreen 10 children in about 15-ish minutes. I do it outside with the wind going behind them so that there is less inhalation and their faces get face sticks applied that are also sent in by the parents.
I am truly grossed out by the thought of rubbing sunscreen lotion on 10 children that are not mine. The only thought I have is to also use gloves for my hands but the expense of that would be quite high and I don't want to eat that cost.
BUT, I also don't want the unhealthy aspect of spray sunscreens.

WHAT DO YOU DO?!? What WOULD you do if you had a group of 10 children that weren't yours (this doesn't include my own kids...) that you needed to apply sunscreen to in the afternoon if you went out for water play?

For preschoolers I squirt lines on each arm and leg and have them rub in their own.
I do their faces.

I have to rub it in at every application-I have up to 6 a day.

We are not allowed to use the spray on type nor are children under the age of 6 allowed to put it on themselves.

I guess you could look at it like this: Its part of the job description!

You're not required to wear gloves?! Lucky! We have to wear gloves and then still wash our hands between each child. Around 2 years old I start teaching them to run it in. They do a decent job and I haven't had any with burns yet. I have mirrors on the wall that they look into to rub it in on their faces

You can get the thinner plastic food service gloves for cheap and then just change in between kiddos. When I was in a center we had to use lotion sunscreen and had 20 kids to apply it twice a day so we could go outside.

I have up to six kids a day. I prefer the lotion and only one of my kids has the spray kind. I rub it on them and for the spray kind, I either spray it in my hand and rub it on, or put it really close and spray some on them and then rub it in. But my kids are all 3 and under. And I do it 15 minutes before we go out (most labels say to do this) so I prefer for them to bring the lotion. They sell those sunscreen sticks; you could go that route, but I would imagine that that would get really expensive for the parents.

I also wear gloves for each child and each child has his own sunscreen that is left here. It takes just a bit longer. Not that bad.

I squirt a bit in the older children's hands and have them apply it themselves.

I do the younger ones, and my 2 yr old grandson who thinks sunscreen is poison and screams bloody murder the whole time I'm applying it.
