Does anyone have the child that just does not stop talking ALL DAY LONG? I have a 3 yr old dcb that is here 10 hours a day and I swear to God he does not stop stop all day. Except for his 1 1/2 hour nap that is. If he's not talking he's saying do do do do dadada woop woop you know, noises! It's really pushing me over the edge and he's here 5 days a week!

ME! ME!

Also 3 yr old DCB. He says my name literally 500000 times an hour. Its gotten to the point where I have to threaten him with nap, which works, so I keep doing it. Half of the time I say "what"? And he looks at me blankly trying to think of something to ask me!!

Also my own 8 year old is a chatter box. It gets very overwhelming sometimes. I have to tell her to stop because it is sensory overload. Sometimes I think it is sensory seeking behavior.

Yes, and he's my son. Never stops talking, ever.

I have one. He's also a "one upper"

Everything any one has at home, he has 2 of.

It does get a bit annoying but most the time I redirect his need to converse to someone willing to listen. I understand the WHY of his behavior but simply cannot endure it long.

So I totally get where you are coming from for sure!!

At least I'm not alone lol. I've tried to get him to go talk to other kids but that doesn't even help because he talks really loud and talks in a high pitched voice that I can still hear it. Then if I ask him to stop talking for a couple of minutes, that's when he shifts to the noises. Today he was doing that pop noise with his tongue on the roof of his mouth all day. ahhhhhh lol

OK um YES, ....The noises! The repeating "sound effects", the sirens, yelling for fun. OMgoodnes I feel your pain. It is also contagious. Now I feel like the broken record, DCK please use your inside voice, DCK please do not yell blah blah blah!

My son was a non-stop talker when he was little. He'd ask one question after another after another until my mind would start to feel numb and my brain would hurt. I would try to break the cycle of questions by asking him what he thought and then asking him questions but he was always able to turn it back around and ask me questions again. Once he got a little older, I could tell him my brain needed a rest and he'd do his best to stop talking for 5 minutes but then he'd start all over again. I'm not sure how I kept any of my sanity! I have no good advice but I definitely can empathize!

"enny! enny! enny! ENNY!!!"
"yes?"
"enny! enny! enny! ENNY!!!"
"lilly, lilly, lilly, lilly lilly"
I just repeate her name over and over, usually while shes still saying mine. Seems like eventually she gets sick of hearing it and will walk away to play (and hum)

Yes!! I have a 2 1/2 year old who is fairly new to my room. First two weeks, I'm thinking shes an easy one listens well, does what asked, picked up on routine easily. Now, she never stops talking!!! Talks in complete sentenced, but repeats herself over and over and over. I want met water, I want more water, I want more water. As I am getting her more water. Only when I say you have water does she say ok and drink it. The she starts in on the next thing. It's going to be a long two years!!

This made me laugh. I have a recently turned 5yo girl like this. I redirect her to tell her friends. My ears can't handle the constant chatter. It overstimulates my mind.

I'll answer three "why" questions. Then my answer is "Why not?"

I have one to. She had major surgery when she was just a few days old. I told her mom that I think the doctor forgot to reinstall her off switch when he stitched her up. She never stops talking or moving.

I don't know how bad I was but my mother told me once that when I was old enough to ask questions, I was horrible with them. That's probably why when I was old enough to read I became a book worm, and I never read fiction books. I read books to learn things. Now I search the net pretty much daily to find out more things.

this is my son who is 9. last year he started with all of these non-stop crazy off the wall questions. he also is a non-fiction book reader and will just spew out facts left and right out of no where about the most random things. While it bugs the life out of the rest of my family I have helped them to embrace it with love, WHICH I am not going to lie some times I just want to yell shut up.....lol but I would never do that.

I have a few kids like that, and they are the ones that get LOTS of screen time at home. One of them even talks like an app, asking the questions AND answering them: "Shall we play a game?...what shape is the ball?...a circle!...you are correct." Just non-stop diarrhea of the mouth.

When they are trying to talk my ears off, or otherwise completely monopolize my attention, I tell them to tell their story or talk about whatever it is to their friends or even a stuffed animal. John Rosemond style. And I don't feel bad about it, either.

OMG ok that would annoy the life out of me having a kid talk like an app, ask the question and then answer it like a parrot.

I do the same thing, oh thats great lets go tell your friend.

One time one of the kids even said, noooo I am tired of hearing your words I don't want my ears to hurt anymore. I had to refrain myself from giving that kid a high five.

I sing. Loudly and badly. They don't try to talk to me while I'm singing! But sometimes they do put in requests.

"I've GOT a MULE; her name is SAL. . . ."

This was my day today with a three year old. It was "Miss Jane" this and "Miss Jane" that all. day. long. about nothing important. I finally realized that it was for attention. I ended up having her sit by herself at the coloring table, because "I have other children here who I need to talk to."

Ahhhhhhhh!
