Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>How Do You Bill For Late Fees?

I am paid in advance every Friday for the upcoming week and I was wondering how you let the parent know how much they owed for late fees and when you actually collect them? Do you write up a bill? Add it to the next payment? Collect it on the next day?

I am starting an actual sign in/sign out policy on Monday and I'm not sure how to go about collecting the fees.

I will hopefully be using checkinkids and manually adjusting the "closing" time for each family so that it shows them exactly what they owe. (I do contracted hours with a max each day)

I'm assuming you are talking about late pickup fees? I don't charge for late pickups so I haven't had to deal with this. I don't tolerate late pickups and I'll terminate services (stated right in my contract). I make sure to warn everyone of this at the interview. I don't want to work late, count minutes, hound for payments... My family is too important to work past my closing time.

Now if you are talking about late payment fees.... If they don't pay by friday, I remind them that there is a X per day late fee so make sure you include that in your payment when you bring it on monday.

I use checkinkids and I do manually adjust it for one family who stays later than the rest. It isn't a big deal at all. I then issue an invoice, if late, from childcarepay.com (through minute menu kids) and it is due BEFORE arrival the next day or I will not accept their child into care.

If you are speaking of late pick up fees, they pay the day they are late at pickup. I have a few times allowed until drop off e next morning but I do refuse care until fees are paid.

Yes, I was talking about late pick up fees. I'll have to look into childcarepay once I get set up with the food program because I believe they include minute menu free.
