I'm pretty excited about it too!

I made muffin tin crayons and several of my little ones asked if I would make them some. Sure, I said and in my mind thinking "For Christmas".

So along with those I'm going to also include pads of paper from Wal/Mart-Dollar Tree.

Then I'm going to try and make all of them home made playdough. I need to find some containers to put it in though and I want to make several batches so that will be a Sunday afternoon project.

I'm going to go buy a huge container of cookie cutters and start looking at thrift stores for some and include those with the playdough.

I'm think it shouldn't cost me more then maybe $20 for all this for about 11 kids-

I may just steal all of your ideas!

Also, for the families I'm going to try to do a soup mix in a Mason Jar and maybe cookie mix, too.

Awesome ideas!

Mine are all getting two books that are their favorites here (thank you scholastic!). Playdoh (thank you Target dollar spot!) and a small art kit (individualized to each kid's taste, thank you 5 below!)

Parents are getting a salt dough handprint ornament sprayed silver with a silver, red and green ribbon and an updated silouette (which cost me exactly $1 for the frame) and photos of all of the kids art projects in a small photo book ($5 each at walmart). And the kids are giving them a gift each day of december.

I save the baby formula cans all year. I cover them in Christmas paper and fill them with homemade play dough for the kids. Dirt cheap...and they LOVE it.

We also use the cans in our storage room..perfect for nails, screws, screwdrivers etc.

The kids painted some one year for Easter baskets. We punched holes in the sides near the top and threaded pipe cleaners through to use as handles. Filled with Easter grass and candy...they were awesome!

So many uses!

That reminds me....gotta get going on this years play dough batch.......

My photo book idea of their year at school suddenly pales in comparison.

Books are my go-to Christmas/birthday/good-bye gift. Sometimes I get them at HPB but usually just buy 'em new because good, high-quality children's books are a treasure worth spending money on.

You know where is great to buy books right now? Costco! They sell gift sets of multiple books from big-name children's authors. I found a collection from Laura Numeroff (author of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie) for $9 for 5 of her most popular books in hardcover (although smaller than the original book). I split it up among the children and that's less than $2 per book! They also had Dr. Seuss board books in sets of 5 for $8. You all should check it out!
