I run a preschool program and have several children that attend only half day for the preschool part of it and then go home after lunch.
I just started half of a day program last year and I only make $5.00 less a day, so it has been working out great.
well the other day I got a call from a potential client looking for care on the back half of the day, which would work out perfectly.
I have never even considered it EVER. Basically the potential new client would come from 12:30 to 530, 3 days a week. They would come and go straight to sleep.
I have not met with the parent yet, I do see a few issues with it, but was wondering if any of you have every done this before. If so what were your issues, drawbacks etc.
any of your wisdom or input on this would be most helpful.

If you know for sure they will nap and you have other kids until 5:30 I'd say go for it. I would be worried they wouldn't nap.

I've done it because the child was a great napper. I never had a problem. But if the kid can't nap...

If they actually sleep, it sounds like a good deal! If they don't, that's a different story! 
I decided to take a drop in (I know it's a different scenario) from 12:00/12:30 until 5:30/6 and the two times she came, she didn't nap. It wasn't fun. It made my son not want to nap so I had two kids running around. The two non nappers that day were only 1 so it would probably make a difference if they are older, but again, if they don't nap...

I heard of a lady who started a home preschool where she had 4 preschool classes a week (1 MWF morn; 1 MWF afternoon; 1 T/TH morn and 1 T/Th afternoon).

That sounds really cool. I don't think that would work in my area..........I heard of a lady who started a home preschool where she had 4 preschool classes a week (1 MWF morn; 1 MWF afternoon; 1 T/TH morn and 1 T/Th afternoon).

My program specializes in preschool with extended care. IT is something that is not offered in my area. All of the preschools here are half day, so unless you don't work, or have a family member near by, your child won't be able to go to preschool.
I have not had the interview with the family yet, we meet tonight. So far it sounds good, DCM did say that the child naps the same time that we do, so we will see.

When my DS started dc back in the day (18months), he went 12:45-5. He went with enough time to get story before nap. He laid down with the rest for rest time. We already had close to the same schedule before he went, so he was use to it. She did tell us that if he didn't rest, he couldn't stay. I say, if they can guarentee he will rest right away, it would be perfect! Nap, snack, a bit of play, and off you go!

I have a boy on Fridays who doesn't come until 12, he has lunch if he hasn't eaten and goes down for nap immediately after. We knew he would be tired after PT and could come here and go straight to nap if necessary. Our church preschool offered a before and after care program but only from 8:30-(9-11:30-)4 I think? There's a large Fam daycare down the street from me who offers a daytime program (8:30-12:30) for $35 or a full day (8-4:30) for $50.
