Today, BOTH boys came with one shoe

I had to term them. Today we were going to go to the bubble festival.

Just when I think I've heard it all!!

She came to pick them up and I said "Well, we couldn't go to the bubble festival today since they both only had one shoe."

Her reply, "WHAT!?!?!? Why didn't you tell me about the festival???"

Umm....Hi, shoes are not OPTIONAL!!

Why would you bring your child with one shoe? I'm completely baffled by that. No shoes would be better than one shoe?????

That's one of those things that you stop and think: Did they deliberately do that just to push your buttons? That would drive my OCD crazy!

This DCM is...different. She is like a 15 year old child in a 30 something year old's body. She asks me jaw-dropping parenting questions. I just don't even understand.

Sounds to me like you are MUCH better off without her as a client.

It's one thing to care for the kids but to have to hand-hold a parent on a continual basis is exhausting.

I don't mind lending an ear, some support and/or some advice when asked but this mom sounds like she needs an adult guardian.

Uhm why would YOU let them stay with only 1 shoe each? Do you not do at least a visual cursory check from head to toe at drop off? Her fault she got termed but IMO YOUR fault the others didn't get to go to the festival.

It was Saturday so I only had the two. It's happened before and when I saw it again I decided to term. She would not have driven the 40 minute round trip to get them shoes. It was the same outcome.

I would have told mom to either bring the shoes or come get the kids and your term letter. Whether she WANTED to make the trip wouldn't matter to me. If she WANTED to avoid it, she could have sent her kids to daycare dressed.

Why do you keep allowing this stuff? She is CLEARLY doing it on purpose at this point. I'm sorry, but if a parent is THAT disrespectful, I couldn't work with them.
