Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>What Holidays Are You Closing For 2015?
sahm1225 08:05 AM 10-09-2014
I added 2 extra days last year (the day after thanksgiving and the day after Christmas). All of my families told me how they felt I should've done that a long time ago and that I deserve the paid time off. I love my dcf!

This year Christmas is on a Friday. I was thinking of adding another holiday throughout the year, but was curious to see what everyone else is doing? I was debating doing the day after new years or maybe Columbus day?

I will close for a week during the summer (also not paid)

that doesn't look like very many, I may need to rethink this

New years day
Memorial day
July 4th
Labor day
Thanksgiving and the day after
Christmas eve and day

If holidays fall on Saturday or Sunday, I close on the day the banks choose, either the Friday before or Monday after. If Christmas day is a Thursday, I sometimes close on the Friday after, as long as the majority of my kids wouldn't be here anyway. Also, I close one hour early on Halloween.

New years day
Easter
July 4th
Labor day WEEKEND Friday-Monday(its my birthday weekend so we go camping out of town)
Thanksgiving
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day
Since I do weekend care as well for some families, if the holiday falls on a weekend, I won't take the kiddo for the weekend, Friday-Sunday. They can return on Monday.

Are you Catholic? Or just diabolical? I am Catholic and have debated taking holy Thursday off before Easter and maybe starting late on ash Wednesday. My kids are still so little evening masses are brutal
