I was wondering if anyone makes baskets or maybe buys each kid a chocolate bunny or peeps for Easter??? Any thoughts .........

I am thinking about having an Easter Egg Hunt too and maybe ... coloring eggs.

What do you all do???

I usually do an Easter hunt outside for the plastic eggs and at the end we play a colour sorting game with the eggs and each child gets a wee basket filled with goodies.
We also attempt to dye eggs but I have all toddlers and it is difficult lol

We also do an easter egg hunt with the plastic eggs outside. I usually try to do some sort of easter craft throughout the day, but for the most part (egg hunt aside) it's just like any other day. I used to get all of the kids a goodie bag, but after putting so much work into it and getting somewhat snide remarks from dcp's about the contents, I decided that we will just do fun activities here and I'll save myself some time and money.

I saw an idea, not sure if it was here or pinterest, of taking a plastic carrot (can be found at dollar store ) and filling with goldfish crackers. I think I will do the Annie's Bunny crackers. I don't like to do alot of sweets for them cause they get them at home so much.

Parents and friends come over and we have a hunt, followed by snacks and hanging out.

I've done egg hunts. I'm not a big Easter celebration kinda gal, so I keep it simple. I love jelly beans and doing scavenger hunts with the kids so I use Easter as an excuse to do it! Sorry if that makes anyone upset, just being honest.

Sounds Great! I am thinking I will get some plastic eggs for them to hunt outside and then maybe get them some little treat for Easter. I have a few spots open since I let go of a family last week so I do not have as many kids to participate as I would have had last week but still going to try and do something fun with the ones I have.

I don't do anything. This is the second year now that I have not done any type of celebrations or parties. I made this change for a number of reasons;(in no particular order)

1.) Parents EXPECT it and most do NOT appreciate the time and effort I put into it.
2.) The kids don't act or feel like it is anything special as it seems that now days they get candy and presents for breathing.
3.) It is a big expense for a little return.
4.) It can be too disruptive for our normal day/schedule. (I work so hard getting everyone on a good schedule that varying from it even once is always tricky).

I am also a religious person and really don't want to or like to contribute to the commercialism of what some of these holidays have become.

I have families that have many different beliefs too so trying to be politically correct with everyone in regards to celebrations is just too much so it is easier to not do any type of holiday parties/celebrations and let the families do it at home.....which I think is best anyways since holidays/celebrations should be a family affair anyways.

We are gonna do an Easter egg hunt with the plastic eggs, dye some real eggs, and I did buy everyone (even the babies) easter baskets filled with a few things. I only put a couple small things of candy in it. But mostly bubbles & small toys that you can get for like a dollar. The babies I just put a small stuffed bunny and a little plastic bunny food container and a jar of baby food. I think all the kids will love it. I love doing parties and making little treats for the kids so it will be a great time. I am also making little bunny cake pops for the kids to eat for snack that day & a couple extra for the parents. The kids will be making something for the parents for craft time to! We are all going to have a great time!

We do an easter egg hunt (parents provide filled eggs). We have cupcakes on that day too. We also do bunny, egg activities all week.

It's one of my favorite theme weeks besides christmas themes.

I actually just ordered everything I need from oriental trading yesterday, I got 12 little baskets, for $6, And I bought stuff to put in them, Every one will get a punch ball, bubbles, a bunny mouth whistle, a little plush bunny, a bunny stamp.......And I also bought 50 Toy filled eggs for our egg hunt (I don't do any candy, they will get enough on easter from family and such, and just as well as with my own children most end up in the garbage anyways) Every kid gets to find 5 eggs maybe one more if a kid doesn't come, and I let the littlest kids go first so they find the easiest follwed by the older kids where they get to find the harder ones......A lot of the goodies I bought I also use for our big family easter egg hunt, so I take what I need for the DCK's and the rest goes to the family hunt, I spent $50, and shipping was free, so not to bad....my parents are all super appreciative of what I do, so I love doing a little something for each.......and like I said alot of what I bought goes for our big family hunt.

Thats Great! I havent bought anything from there but have heard of it. My sister has purchased things from there before. She also is in Child Care as well.

I love our Dollar Tree here in town Cheap way for me to do special things for the kids from time to time.

One of the moms sent in a bag of hershey kisses to share with the other DCK's this week. I thought that was super sweet of her!

I love oriental trading for stuff like this, I think its where the dollar tree gets a lot of stuff, as well as the target dollar spot(don't know that for sure) But I bought a pack of bunny mouth whistles 48 of them I think for 4.99, you can just get dirt cheap stuff, 2 dozen toy filled eggs are $8.00, so much better than filling the eggs by myself(at least for daycare, I fill the ones for our family hunt) Check it out sometime, Its also where I get most stuff for my own kids birthday parties.

I don't do anything for "Easter" but every year I do a welcome spring tote full of outdoor toy goodies that I usually find at the $1 store. Side walk chalk, ball and bat set, bubbles....ect...

I also let the kids do hand prints on their bag and surprise them with the full bag once its dry
