I'd like to try to implement a reoccurring electronic payment system. Like one would find at a gym, or corporate preschool, where every month on a certain date a certain dollar amount was deducted from the clients cc, debit card or checking account. Currently my clients all pay monthly. But, without a doubt (even with having to remember 1x in 30 days) someone always forgets and I have to remind about payments. I'm tired of having to remind.

Does anyone do this? Does anyone know how I would set something like this up, what company to go through etc.

PS: I'm not interested in the square or anything like that.

I don't know of any program that will do something like that other than Minute Menu Kids Pro and even then it only does automatic payments from a parents checking account, it doesn't allow payments with debit or credit cards.

I think that there may be programs out there for commercial businesses but I'm assuming that they may be as costly or more costly than a POS credit card machine.

I think I may try MMK. I tried it about 3/4 years ago and never really got into it.. I'm kind of set in my ways of filing my receipts. But, never hurts to try for free again. Do you know if I can input expenses that are not childcare related (I like to keep track of things like my daughters extra curricular sports payments, my husbands clothes purchases etc).

Maybe a PayPal account? Although I don't think you could do recurring payments, dcp's could pay you by credit card.

There are a ton of different software programs out there that will track your child care business finances and budgeting....including automatic invoicing.

I read your post title and my first thought was little babies walking around with ipads and no toys anywhere.

Most of my parents pay by email money transfer. It's easy peasy.

I also am paid monthly. I even went as far as handing out a calendar of payments for the full year and STILL I have parents forget.

I used MMK childcare pay and hated it. It takes 5+business days to actually deposit into your account. So I had to require my DCP to make the payments earlier so that I would get the money on the pay date.

The reason I had to do that was because often it would take 4-5 days for the bank to notify me of NSF. I had to have a parent go to the bank and get me cash one morning or her kids could not stay. As it turned out, she transposed two numbers when entering her information for payment.

I would love to have a recurring auto payment system that drafted on the same day each month. That would be great.

My DKPs have monthly automatic withdrawal set up through the bank. We all go through the same bank so it was pretty easy to do. I love it b/c I KNOW exactly when I will get paid.

that is true too. If the parent goes into their bill pay, they can set it up to draft automatically from their account each month.

I think only one of my parents bank at the same bank as me...

Several of my daycare parents use POPMoney. Many banks offer it. No account numbers etc to share out. All they need is my email address, which I linked to my acct. They set up recurring payments.

I get paid every Friday. Every Wednesday, I get an email from POPMoney telling me that a payment is being processed and will be in my acct on Friday. I like knowing ahead of time that the money is on it's way! Works like a dream!
