on topics, does anyone have some links to info on sleep training and good sleep habits?

My now 13 mo is still here and I am still working with her on naps. She had a good few days and then we started over on Monday. Finally had a decent day yesterday. She didn't sleep but she chatted and rested so it is an improvement. I had a brief talk with mom at pickup and she mentioned that she never naps well and never has. Said that she goes in to get her after 10 minutes of screaming and then dcg just doesn't nap. I have been going in after 10-15 minutes and using a soft voice to tell her that it is still nap time and she is safe (thank you Heidi!). Now I've been slowly lengthening the time before I go in.

This little one is overtired: huge bags under her eyes, short tempered, tantrums, etc etc. When she does nap it is like night and day.

I would like to give it one last effort to get mom onboard and dcg on our schedule here. Mom has expressed willingness to work with me in the past and I think that if I lay it on the line as in, she needs to adapt and that it is in dcg's best interest (which it is, the poor little thing is miserable most days), I think I can make this work.

Any articles you have would be appreciated.

Thanks!
