Yesterday a parent brought in a box of Kleenex and a container of LYSOL disinfectant wipes, and said her 2 yr old had a runny nose/cold. Thank you mom for the supplies.

I am not looking forward to the cold/flu season this year.

For my 30th I had one girl (6yrs) bring me a pot of fake roses, a card and a beaded bracelet (from the $1 store), very sweet. I had another boy give me some daisies (wild and picked from his grandma's house). They were both great gifts.

Now, I've got an exchange going on with the 6yr old's parents. We've got different things growing in our gardens, so we're trading some produce back and forth.

Where can I find parents like that? Mine don't pay on time, never give me their schedule until Sun at 8pm, don't bring supplies needed in a timely matter. Ugh!

I'll be honest. Not all of my parents are going to win the "best provider-parent relationship award". I have one mom who still owes me $$ from 2 weeks ago, and hasn't given me her schedule for this week yet, and her son has been here two days already. I've reminded her every day this week... We'll talk again today when she drops her son off. She's young, recently divorced, nice but kind of mentally pre-occupied lately.

I have another family that seems to expect the moon and the stars for their three kids. Ages 2, 3 & 4. They're only here a couple of days a week and until midnight. The parents expect me to bathe their children as "that's part of the bedtime routine". The 2 yr old is borderline special needs. Mouth full of teeth, chews on toys, but still eats stage 3 (fairly runny) jarred baby food and won't feed himself. If you give him any type of regular food he tries to swallow it whole and chokes. He can't speak either. The parents are very nice people, the kids usually well behaved, but sometimes I get a little stressed with that bunch.

I've had one parent that would always give me a 50 gift card on my b-day and 50 at x-mas. And on my 5th year wedding anniv. she gave me double my pay, cause we were going to Hawaii and she and her husband wanted us to have a good time.
