Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>Do You Feel Like Your Kids Are Harder Than The DCKs?

Since school is out my Sa kids are home for the summer. I love them all but I swear they want to push me to the absolute brink of inanity. They really know how to push my buttons and they do not listen. My dck's are great they listen and they know the routine. My dck's take naps, but the sa kids don't.....ugh

We go out at least twice a day. Inside the kids are running and screaming so we went outside. They just stood there complaining how hot it was!! ugh!

Yesterday I had 10 kids here and it was ridiculous, 5 were mine and 5 dcks. Today is much better!!

I hope everyone is having a good summer!!

Thats because the daycare kids see you as "Teacher" but your kids see you as "Mom". Kids are usually more reserved at school/daycare then at home because they aren't at their house where they feel relaxed and like they have to raise their hands or ask permission (to an extent) to do something. I notice I am usually more polite to strangers then most of my friends and family.

I heard of the "Winter Blues but this sounds like the "School Aged Summer Blues"

yes! I have a 2 1/2 year old who doesn't like waiting to nurse while I feed the baby dcg a bottle, or having to share toys sometimes. I let him have special toys he doesn't have to share. He just wants me all to himself. Even worse when dad comes home in the afternoon and he holds one of the dck or helps me out with one of them...very jealous.

YES!!!!! I only have 1, an 8 year old son. He is ready to drive me nuts during the day! I have even threatened to put him in another daycare! He is the loudest, most hard headed one here, normally I don't have much trouble with him.

Only 33 more days until school.

My teenager is a teenager. I think that just about says it all.
Some days are better than others.

YES.

My 3yo ds is the worst one most days. I am constantly having to redirect him and send him to time out for trying to hit or push. Or taking toys.

I feel bad though because sometimes (not all times) I am sure that he is acting out because he wants his home and his Mom to his self.

Our own children are both heading off to high school this year! They usually just disappear doing their own thing during dc hours and they know when they are around they have to help. It does get better when they get older

YES! Mine are 2.5 and 4 ... and I spend a majority of the day disciplining THEM. I can't wait for my daughter to head back to preschool in the fall. 3 mornings a week, both her and I will love it

My ten yr old daughter is great... Helpful and plays with the other kids no problem. My 17 yr old boy is pretty good- when he is around he plays w the kids and is super patient... My 15 yr old boy He is just ugh!!! Loud, will argue w the school agers, really good with the little ones but will wind them up... Thankfully he has been getting busier as the summer goes!!

the hardest kids here are my 4 and 5 year olds. they pick at each other a lot and do more crying and whining than my younger two children, or my three daycare kids. they both need to go to school, asap! LOL in the fall the 4 year old will be in morning preschool and the 5 year old will be in limited school (partially homeschooled) but i am really looking forward to them getting some space from each other and from the daycare here. it will be better for everyone i am sure!
