Very cool snack! Look (and smell!lol!) like french fries, but made from spinach, tomato, potato. Baked, not fried. Organic. No gluten or soy. Downside is they are pricey. But the kids really, REALLY loved them! Poof, gone, tore 'em up.

I've never seen the "french fry" version. I will have to look for those. Are they by the other french fries? I like veggie chips (they too are baked).

coscto is now selling them in small snack size bags. I buy them for my own kids because they are way more healthier than chips and my kids love them. Now daycare kids are iffy about them (obviously you can tell who eats healthier) I bought 2 large bags last week at miejers because they were on sale.

Can someone check their bag or box for me?

I looked at a veggie fry product and the nutritional contect was a big, fat ZERO. I'm wondering if you guys have found a different product?

Probably the same thing...

I always serve mine with fresh fruit, so there ya go for nutrition. They are a once a week treat around here. The kids get SO excited when I pull that bag out!

Am I understanding this correctly, that a chip, while higher in calories and fat has more vitamin c and less sodium than a veggie straw?

I guess neither seem very healthy to me. LOL. At first I thought it was something home-made then everyone mentioned the stores they buy them at, ha ha.

That's how I read it too.

I base nutrition on more things than sodium content and vitamin C content.

I buy our veggie straws in the huge bag from costco and they're not expensive at all. We love them here. Nothing unhealthy about them, really. But, I'm not all that picky. They're a hell of a lot better than artificial color- and flavor-filled junk food.

There's no nutritional value in rice cakes either, just a bunch of empty calories, but for some reason all of my dcp's want me to serve them to their kids. We consider them a treat, and have them once every couple of months or so served with something healthy.

They aren't really any healthier than potato chips but, in moderation like most other snack foods they are a fine choice for special treats.
EDIT a Consumer Reports report video
If we are having rice cakes it is always the brown rice ones and I make my own peanut or other nut butters that we put on. It is more a vehicle for that.
