Daycare and Taxes>Husband & Wife Team Licensed Childcare Ratios

Hello everyone,
I have been doing daycare for a few months as a license exempt provider through the state but recently my husband and I have decided to become licensed. He is going to be home with me and working as my substitute as he has completed all of the required trainings. The question I have is regarding the total amount of children we are allowed to care for once licensed. Is it still the same (10 max including our own children with only 2 under 24 months) or would it be different considering there is technically 2 providers present. We live in Oregon. Thank you to anyone who is able to shed some light on this for us!

Welcome to the forum!

Here is a link to licensing info for Oregon.
It explains ratios for your state for both certified and registered programs. https://www.daycare.com/oregon/

You will have ONE license for your ONE daycare. The numbers of providers work at the daycare cannot change the capacity allowed by your license. If you want double the capacity you should open the second daycare in a second location and get a license for that daycare.
Remember, you can have no more than 6 preschoolers and only two of them may be under 2yo. If you want to have 10, so 4 of them MUST BE school agers.
