Hi everyone, i'm about to quit my job as a preschool teacher and open my own daycare. However, i am afraid that i will not find enough clients to keep operating. Where do you find your clients? thanks

At first, advertise on Craigslist, and signs by the side of the road in your area. I also think you should let all your Facebook friends know. And tell everyone else you know - word of mouth is great. Maybe have some cards made ?!?

At this point in my business, most of our clients are referrals from current/past clients. But we started off with signs around our neighborhood & elementary school.

Also your state's licensing office may have a directory of licensed daycares, that you will be added to once you are licensed. We have one on OK, but personally - we get very few calls from it.

I just did a quick count, and of 14 total children enrolled:

Referral from current/past clients: 6

Referral from friends: 2

Craigslist: 5

State list of licensed daycares: 1
