Hi all,

I read in Washington's propaganda that 30 states now have electronic attendance for children in care. Likely it's required only that state-subsidized parents must use this system . Please identify your state and tell me, do you have electronic attendance?

Electronic attendance? yes/no
What state are you?
Who paid for equipment? you/state
If you paid, how much? initially and monthly?

Thanks much.

I'll keep a tally as folks respond.

No. We are required to track attendance/times for ALL children receiving subsidy but it is not electronic.

I DO use an electronic form of attendance tracking though.

What state are you?

Minnesota

Who paid for equipment? you/state

I purchased my own

If you paid, how much? initially and monthly?

So far the software program I am using costs $4.99 per month regardless of how many children are enrolled. NO cost to parents.

I'm in MS and only licensed centers that take subsidy use POS systems. They are provided by the state though.

I personally sign in and out kids but only for my tracking. On the one state pay the mom does it on a clip board on my filing cabinet. But the state only requires we keep his filed. They don't ask times, only days.

Electronic attendance? no...I think some centers use software that they purchased, but it's not required. I am required to keep accurate, daily attendance of ALL children on the state's approved form. If inspected and there is a child signed in or out inaccurately, I would be cited.

No electronic attendance. But for state subsidy clients we can do our billing online instead of using paper forms and we do have to enter attendance for billing.
I'm in Iowa.

If you paid, how much? initially and monthly? I am not sure exactly how much they paid, but I believe it was quite expensive. We do not pay monthly though.

This is the same for NY. They just started having us do the billing for our state pay clients online instead of paper, but no special equipment or software was required (besides a computer with internet).

I'm in Florida. I have no idea what it is so I guess we don't have it. That said, in Florida, daycare rules are by county so it depends on what county you are in. I am also an in home daycare. Not sure what rules they have for centers. Nothing in Broward County that I know of for home daycares.

Electronic attendance? Yes.

Electronic Submission, in addition to paper copy, is mandatory if accepting subsidy/food program $$. Paper version is required to be kept onsite for two years for all LEGAL providers, even if all clients are private pay.

I use Minute Menu Kids Pro.

If you paid, how much? $69.95 a year.

"propaganda" ?? Why is it propoganda?

Florida......no to all, but I heard they may be doing it soon.
Considering the poor track record of Florida's DCF, probably a good idea.

It's coming. Alabama is a pilot state and we've had it for a couple of years now (subsidized families only). They intend to make it national. And yes, it can be a real pain in the ass!
