Com'on, your bestest ideas.
![]() https://www.pinterest.com/pin/307370743294613167/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/307370743294612572/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/307370743294612982/ I'm thinking of doing one or more of these. Plus an "All about Mom" questionnaire. They always have such fun doing those and the moms love 'em! I really like those thumbprint necklaces but I'm not sure where to get the chains? I'd need 7 and really don't want to put tons of money into them right now. ![]() Any ideas you'd like to share? |

I thought I had narrowed it down to sand footprints
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/98164466854864959/ or handprint flower pots https://www.pinterest.com/pin/98164466850587420/ I did the flower pots a couple of years ago, and they were really cute. The kids planted flowers in them and were thrilled with the whole process. I have a different group this year, so I can repeat now. But, the necklaces are so, so cute!!! I love my moms. They have been so good to me, so I might do more than one thing. |

I did the footprint butterfly pots and they did not turn out as great as I had hoped. First, it turns out that a couple of my kiddos' feet were too large for the pot so I ended up using their hand, which wasn't quite as cute but still workable. Then the paint did not end up looking as neat as on Pinterest. It was still cute, but not what I pictured in my head (or Pinterest)
![]() Also make sure you have a back-up plan for the sand footprints. Many of the reviews on the instruction website said that it didn't work out too well. In case it doesn't work, maybe you can buy some seashells/starfish/sand dollars at the craft store to set in the plaster instead if it doesn't work out? |

Yeah, I'm going to do them early, so if they fail, there is time for a plan b.

I've heard of provider's sending or buying themselves bouquets of flowers or boxes of chocolates and leaving them out so parents can see them and then when the comment on them they can say "Oh Family X gave these to me for Provider Appreciation Day!"
![]() ![]() Not sure how comfortable I'd feel "guilting" my daycare parents into "appreciating" me but I guess if it works for them, it's cool with them. ![]() |

They might remember if Hallmark had a line of cards and a commercial every 15 minutes, Walmart had end caps full of "the perfect gift for your dcp", and all of the stores ran Daycare Provider sales. Otherwise, it will never happen.

What about kids who don't have a traditional "mom"?
I have 2 different SA kids who are raised by other family members; one is by his grandparents and the other is by his Uncle. With "Mother's Day" week coming up I'm not sure how to approach it without making them feel left out or sad. Ideas? (Sorry to thread jack! ![]() |

When I have situations like this, I just plan on buying extra craft materials since some kids have lots of people raising them. The other kids never seemed to mind that some kids would make more than one project, so it worked out fine. |

My moms are big into coffee so the kids are going to use sharpie markers to decorate a white coffee mug. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and it's permanent. I figured I would do this with a small bag of coffee.
