Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>How Many Kids And How Many Total Families?

I have 5 dck, from 3 families and I am just wondering how many you have? I can only handle a few in and outs during the day. Just wondering if you look for more kids per family so you have less total drop offs/pick ups or if it doesn't matter to you how many in and outs you have per day.

Right now I watch 6 kids from 4 different families. They all want different days and different hours and special treatment. I don't mind having more kids from the same family, but they are hard because then they want after school care for older kids too and it makes life really hard around here. I prefer 1 or 2 kids from each family and the younger the better.

I have 11 kids plus my son. So I have 11 families. I don't have any siblings right now, although I have before and didn't care for it. I think I prefer individual children from each family. It is a lot of arrivals and departures. The arrivals are all from 6:45-9. And the departures start at 2:30-4:30. I don't mind it though.

I have 5 children from 2 families. I wish they were broken down a little more. I mean, not the kids...lol...it would be easier if I had 5 kids from 3 or 4 families, because they drag their families "baggage" in the door this way. On the flip side, they all arrive together and leave together, so my day is shorter...

I have 7 kids from 6 families. Only one set of siblings. I like having less families to deal with but I actually prefer having singles instead of siblings. If I lose a family it's easier to fill one empty spot rather than 2 or more all at once. It's less of a hit to my income.

I have 9 kids enrolled (plus my 2 kids) and 7 families total.

1 FT, 2 PT and the rest are all drop-in kids.

I have 12 kids and 9 families right now. Some of those are part time though. I find it a little difficult when they all come in and out together. I have 3-4 families that drop off and pick up at the same time

I prefer singles. Why, when they leave I lose more income and it's always harder to fill two spots instead of one.

I spread my drop-off and pick up by making everyone abide by contracted times.

It helps with my house becoming social hour, parking and being able to quickly get kids in and out. Plus if I have to tell little Johnny's mommy that he was not good today, there is no one else around that I have to worry about hearing it.

5 kids, 5 families

9 kiddos from 7 families

All come at different times of the day the earliest is 7:30am & the latest arrival is 3pm. I don't care too much for all the different comings & goings bc it makes it hard to plan activities. With that said, I really need the kiddos so I deal with it.

At one point I had over 19 kids enrolled all coming & going at different times & I was going crazy.

5 kids from 5 families (5 kids is my max allowed).

I prefer singles... less income lost if they move, lose job, etc. but I will take siblings if its the right fit.

I have 5 kids, 4 families. I prefer no sibs because of the double loss of income issue and the sibling rivalry-I get that enough with my own, but that's what came along at the time, so I took it.

I have 2 families but soon will have 3.

1 family has 2 kids (1 is SA) who are here 2-3 variable days/week
1 family has 1 SA child - only here after school 2 days/week
1 family has 2 kids here 3 consistent days a week

So 3 families with 5 kids total + my own 3 kids (2 of whom are school-agers) = 8 kids total but I never have 8 here on 1 day. The most I have during school time is 4 kids so it's very manageable & sometimes 7 kids after school for about 1.5 hrs.
