Not a great topic, I know.

I have a 2-year-old here (EXACTLY 2). DCC's bowel movements are never solid and are often a light yellowish tint. I have never seen a 2-year-old have loose stools every single day. I thought I would ask here before asking Mom about it, since she is a first time Mom and likely thinks nothing of it.

Is this odd to anyone else or do some 2-year-olds just have peculiar colored loose stools every single day? I guess I'm just concerned that the child might have Celiacs like me and I'm looking for reassurance. I think I need to talk to Mom afterall.

I had one that actually had up to 6 loose stools a day at that age up to about 3 years old.

It was a mess and its because the child ate so much fresh fruit/veggies! They still have loosier stools still but not so many a day.

I have a 2.5yr old that has nearly the same issue, except he rarely goes here (apparently he's a #2 at home only kinda kid). The few times I've changed it he's had this exact thing, I talked to mom about it she's been told by drs it's a dairy allergy or Celiac. He just tested positive for Celiac last month but they aren't changing his diet because of his age (or so mom says) so they still aren't sure if it's the celiacs or dairy.

IMHO, too much dairy and not enough food at home.

Seriously? Every time a person with Celiacs eats something containing gluten it ups their chances for cancer later because the body is fighting against itself. That is ridiculous and makes me so, so sad!

1. That's stupid not to change his diet.

2. It's 99% likely to be both. Celiac/gluten intolerance is VERY linked to dairy issues

3. Get him used to the gf stuff now and he'll never miss it...same for DF milks....

I asked. I hope they consider testing the child for gluten intolerance and dairy allergies. If it comes back good then at least you know with certainty that there is nothing to worry about.

I am allergic to dairy as well and I have Celiacs.

I have 5 2 year olds and none of them have solid/formed poops, they are all lose although not a strange color. They all have great diets both here and at home (except perhaps one) and no allergies. Only DS drinks a lot of milk and if he has too much it makes him constipated not the other way around.

This is like minor diarrhea every time. Not enough to leak anywhere, but it's liquid.

All 3 of my own children were this way. We worked up DD#1 for everything, even biopsied for Celiac's, everything was negative. Tried elimination diets, no change. We do eat a very healthy diet, with lots of raw fruits and veggies. My SIL has worked at a few high end daycare centers, she has commented that the kids who eat the healthiest seem to have loose poops several times per day.

Is the child still on a bottle? If so he is drinking way too much dairy.
