Its sad to note the difference between the 9month old i watch and the two year old. The mother of the 9 month old only drops her off if she has work or school, she cant stand to be apart from her child and loves every minute she has her. The mother of the two year old complains about me being closed for a day, or having to pick her up early for any reason. Both are young mommies, one trying go to college and make something for her daugther, the other... i dnt even know.

I hear you and it is very sad but what do you do ya know....

Some mothers love spending time with their kids and others don't value that time as much and nothing you do or say will change that.

It's funny you posted this. I just interviewed a family the other day. The mom is a STAY AT HOME MOM with 2 kids. She only wants full time care for her 3 year old because she says, "If we spend too much time together we just really tend to butt heads."

I passed on them. But I do feel really sad for that little girl. Some people just shouldn't have kids, if you ask me

I know that if parents didn't work, we would be out of business, BUT I just don't get parents that take advantage of daycare. They leave the kids hear as much as possible. I started doing this to be home with my children. Even as they have gotten older, high school, I love summer when they are home!

I try to have the mindset that if the parents don't want to spend their time off with their children, the kids are probably better off here with me!

It is just sad though. Parenting sure has changed over the years. And we wonder why the kids act the way they do! The parents want the kids, but want someone else to raise them. Sad.....

I can totally see why they wouldnt want to be with their kids when they are off! I dream about it often! of course i am with them 24 hours a day when they arent in school, so I guess its different!

I hear ya. I've seen both types of parents you mentioned. I was one of those kids who was at daycare all of the time. I loved my providers and they definately raised me until I was 5-I was with them 12 to 14 hrs. A day 5 days a week. I started school and my parents decided daycare was no longer necessary. Let me tell you, that first year of me being home after school was quite the learning curve for me and my parents.

Its sad. I cant imagine wasting so much money, being a SAHM and sending your young children to daycare full time. I know that is very judgmental but that is how I feel.

On the other hand, I seem to have some daycare moms that REALLY want to be home with their kids bad. They are micromanaging to the max and nothing you ever do will be good enough, because what they really want is to just do it themselves. Those kind of moms are hard on providers as well.

Also have seen the moms that can't stand to be away from Their BABY. But once they are toddlers and test the limits mom can't stand to keep them a second. Picks up at closing time and gets hubby to drop off early when she isn't working,

I just posted something similar...both the mom and dad are off on the fourth but will be bringing their kids to daycare just because I am open and will be finding something to do with themselves. Makes me sad, I was working outside of the home and LOVED being with my kids if I had a day off. I can't and won't ever understand it. I am very thankful for every day I get to spend with my kids
