I have a new DCB with seperation anxiety. Mom projects her anxiety at the morning drop offs and reinforces his anxiety at pick up time. He's been with me for almost a month and crys almost constantly especially at drop off and the afternoons. Moms answer is pretty much "maybe he isn't happy here".
I've not ever had a parent and child behave like this before. It's so weird and coodependant.
Any advice?

There was another thread, and I can't recall which one, where a provider suggested confirming what the Mom is saying.
"You're right, Jane, it seems like Johnny is pretty unhappy. Please feel free to bring him back when you and him feel more comfortable! Have a wonderful day!"

He needs Mom and

he needs love..

He needs his MOM'S love!

You have a badly behaving parent who is seeking your attention and forcing you to DO her because she knows you want the money.

Tell her you want for him to be happy and she KNOWS he's not. Go find happy mommy. It's not right to be in between mommy, son, and happy. They need to find their own happy and leave you and your business out of it. It doesn't have anything to do with you.

Mom , "maybe he isn't happy here"

You "Ya know, maybe you're right. I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out how I could help him transition better, but out of ALLLLL the things I have tried, nothing has worked. Maybe it would be best if you find someone who he WOULD be happy with"

Turn it around on her. I GUARANTEE you she will eat her words faster than she spit them out.

And, BTW, you should NEVER entertain a parent speaking to you like that. She is taking her own guilt out on you. You deserve better than that.
