Anyone know where I can get a 12-count toothbrush holder. I have one that sits on the sink, but would like one that mounts to the wall. Thanks!

How about one like this:

http://www.discountschoolsupply.com/...&Brand=&Price=

My DH made me one. Mine is a counter sitter too.

I will snap a picture and show you.

I imagine it's super simple to make if you're handy

We used this one at my last center:

http://www.lakeshorelearning.com/pro...=1409348215939

It was great, the only thing was that if you put all the toothpaste on ahead of time, it will rub off onto the cover so make sure you wipe it after everyone brushes or it hardens and becomes a pain.

Why not make a simple "L" shaped shelf just the size of the toothbrush holder, mount the shelf to wall and sit the holder on the shelf?

Now its on the wall. plus its easily removable for cleaning etc.

That would be the cheapest fix... Especially if you like the holder you have otherwise.

These are great, especially BC's, and I may copy this. But, do any of you find the tooth brushing requirement to be kind of...yucky? I just think no matter how hard you try, this just isn't sanitary. A friend of mine told me about a show she was watching where they showed the amount of germ particles (specifically poop) that transfer into the air when a person flushes the toilet with the lid up. You're supposed to keep toothbrushes as far away from a toilet (obviously) as possible. I always make the kids put the lid down, and I clean frequently, but I really find the tooth brushing thing a little off putting. At ds' school, they make us pack a plastic bag and put the brush back in it and into the lunch box- so you can either reuse the bag or use a new one (not Eco friendly) everyday. idk, maybe it's the OCD talking

I had thought about doing tooth brushing here, but I am concerned about all the brushes being so close together and possibly touching when they go in and out and spreading every germ that goes around.

BCcan you post a picture of your toothbrush holder? I have a lot of part timers, so I need something that holds at least 12 at a time.
I have toothbrush covers on them in a big cup but was hoping for something cuter.

Thanks! I’m curious if I could still use a toothbrush cover on the toothbrushes. Do you just leave the suction on the wall & take Dow the toothbrushes?

I do not use covers. It is not healthy. Toothbrushes supposed to get air-dry.

Here is a quick picture of the one my DH made me.
The toothbrushes are currently being switched out so it's empty but as you can see its designed super simple and makes toothbrush storage with or without covers a breeze for kids of all ages.

Just curious, why do you brush teeth at daycare? Shouldn't that be parents responsibility?

I did it because it was something I wanted to do in the beginning. (grand illusions and all... ) and then I realized how difficult and time consuming it was and how it didn't really fit into my philosophy of parent responsibility/provider responsibility etc so I stopped.

Then QRIS came along and now I am back to doing it again.

But I do agree with you. It is a parent responsibility.

changing diapers is parents responsibility too, but we doing it while kids are with us.
Parents brush kid's tooth every morning and evening. Over here kids do it after lunch before going to sleep. I do it because it is healthy.

It's gross to have them exposed to air in a toilet room. I have travel brushes with lids, in the drawer. My toothbrush isn't exposed to the air either.

I just rinsed them out, shook them off, air dried them on paper towels, put the covers back on and stored them in their own cubbies inside pencil cases along with their individual toothpaste tubes and chapsticks. They only used them once a day, before nap.

Pretty similar to how I manage their paintbrushes, really.

I teach my kids to cover the toilet before flushing off.

"Using a toothbrush cover doesn't protect a toothbrush from bacterial growth, but actually creates an environment where bacteria are better suited to grow by keeping the bristles moist and not allowing the head of the toothbrush to dry out between uses"

I teach them to close the lid too. They don't always do it and i can't attend every potty visit. My toothbrushes get boiled regularly too. I find it helps shorten colds. The covers are ventilated, but putting them in the drawer keeps poop particles from settling on them. The covers are only to keep the brushes from touching one another.

a pencil case is a brilliant idea! TB, TP and a name on the front. Viola!

I don't anymore, but only like 2 of them come with their teeth brushed, and it will probably be in the regs soon, I'm told.

You know those lay flat tackle boxes with all the compartments? We took out the dividers and each kid had their own cubby. NO chance of touching, you could put the toothpaste on early and they were easy clean. We drilled holes in the boxes and tossed the whole thing in the dishwasher.

you can buy a expensive, big one on amazon, It gives you a idea at least of how to create a cheap walmart version
