I have car magnets on my van advertising my business and will write on the windows with window markers if I have openings. I park my van at the end of my driveway, drive all over town, etc. What if any expenses relating to the car can be deducted? And what information would I need to track?
FWIW, the van is paid for. I own it outright.

Having magnets or other advertising on your car doesn't create additional car expenses (other than the cost of the magnet and ad). You can only deduct gas, oil, repairs, etc. if you are taking a trip that is primarily for business purposes.

That's what I thought, but I wanted to double check. Thanks Tom!
