We made a triangle for the kids to paint green, then the next day they were given things to decorate their Christmas tree stuff like sparkly balls, macaroni, string, ribbon, whatever you think will look cute. We put a brown trunk at the bottom of the triangle the kids had a blast doing them.

Candy canes: have them glue red and white stripes to a candycane shaped piece of thick paper, then trim when the glue dries.

Tissue paper trees: Use brushes to spread glue on a basic tree shape and add bits of green tissue to the glue. then you could add jewels, or pom poms or otherthings for decorations.

Paper plate wreathes: cut the bottom out of paper plates and let the kids paint them green. Glue paper leaves and red circle berries around the rim. then add a ribbon bow.

This is for younger ones, probably, but cut a tree shape out of green construction paper. Give them a glue bottle and things to glue on the tree: mini pom poms, sequins in different shapes, glitter or glitter glue, those pretty jewel things...

I'm doing one the rest of the week where you trace their hands on a piece of craft foam and cut out five copies of their hand, arrange them and glue them to look like a tree, add a trunk from brown foam and a star from some glittery gold foam I found, then let them decorate as above or with foam oranament stickers (if you can find them...I will have to look early next year). This is going to be our parent present this year!

Use a large black marker to write out letters spelling Merry Christmas and give each child one letter at a time to color how they want. Make sure to cut out the letter when they are done so they don't have to stay inside the lines. When they finish one letter, the adult cuts it out and punches two holes through it to hang it on a wire across the ceiling. Make sure to tie knots in the rope before and after each letter so it doesn't slide down the rope. You can also just tape the letters on the wall or bulletin board too.

Some kids colored 5 or more letters while others only did 2. The adults did a letter too and we all talked about each letter as we gave it to the child. Example. M for the first letter started Mary's name so she was told that when she got the letter M. If the letter they got was not in their name we found something to relate it to. This happened with the S and it looked like a squirmy snake and snake started with S. Fun educational project.

Paint Popsicle sticks green and use one vertical and the rest horizonal like a christmas tree. Glue on sequins for lights and add a paper star at the top.

Green and red hand prints on white paper

Reindeer - brown foot print for head, dark brown hand prints for antlers, glue on red pom pom and googly eyes.

Hand print wreaths. I traced the kids hands and then cut out a bunch of them on green and red paper to glue to a round cut out.
