Default Arrival/Departure Policies

Hi!

I was just curious what others had in their contract regarding drop off/pick up time.
Do you require parents to call if they are going to pick up child early?

looks like your new to the form! Welcome!!

I am sure everyone here will have some great advice for you..

Here is what mine says...

Arrival, Departure and Overtime:
It is normal for some children to have difficulty separating from parents in the morning or not wanting to leave when it's time to go home. Please be very brief (no more than 5 minutes is sufficient) during these transition times. The longer you prolong the departure the harder it gets, and provider will need to focus on the other children in care. A smile, cheerful good-bye kiss, and a reassuring word that you will be back are all that is needed in the morning. In years of experience, children are nearly always quick to get involved in play or activities as soon as parents are gone. This is also a time of testing when two different authority figures are present (the parent and the provider). All the children will test to see if the rules still apply. During arrivals and departures, parents must back the rules of the daycare (see House Rules). If you do not, provider will remind the child that their behavior is inappropriate and take action to correct, if needed. So please be in control of your child during drop off and pick up times at all times. Please help show your child that you respect the rules of the daycare, as well as the provider by reminding them that the rules still apply whether you are here or not.

Drop off and Pick up:
• Each child is expected to arrive clean, fully clothed in clothing that fits with necessary supplies for their day.
• Do not leave until you have signed your child in with time recorded, your child’s shoes have been removed and you have updated provider on any pertinent information – how your child slept, if there are any concerns or updates, and etc.
• Make sure that your child has eaten if being dropped off after meal time. 8:45 am
• At pick up, an authorized adult's signature is required along with time pick up occurred.
Failure to provide a full signature with time will result in a $5.00 fee for each occurrence after the first.
• Per licensing, the name of the person picking up your child must be over the age of 18, authorized to take the child from the facility, and have a proper car/booster seat if transporting by vehicle. They may be asked for ID if the provider has never met the person prior to pick up.

• Should you have an emergency and need an UNAUTHORIZED person to pick up your child, you will need to notify provider in advance or in writing by email. No permission will be granted over the phone to release a child from care by an unauthorized adult. The person picking up will be asked for a valid form of ID to identify themselves.
• No person(s) will remove any child from the house if under the influence of an uncontrolled substance. The provider will call an alternate on your emergency contact list to retrieve your child from the daycare or if necessary authority figures will be called.

Overtime:
Provider will try to be as flexible as possible if given proper notification. We use an atomic clock that is stationed next to the daily log book, please set your clocks according to this time, as it will be used when determining early drop off and late pick up. Please understand that arriving early or picking up late can cause chaotic moments for the provider, as well as the children. Early drop off and late pick up will result in a $1.00 per minute per child charge for each minute that you drop off early or pick up late. There will be a 5 minute grace period applied for both drop off and pick up. While things do happen out of our control, please do not let overtime become a habit.
Regardless of notification, any person(s) that drops off or picks up more than 10 minutes early or late will be required to pay the early/late fee of $1.00 per minute, less the 5 minute grace period. It is recommend, that you have a backup plan if you cannot drop off your child at the contracted time. The same applies for picking up. Failure to abide by contracted hours will result in termination of care. If a change in contract time is needed, please speak to the provider.
