Just told one daycare family I am pregnant and after a congrats she said, "Let me know once you know your due date more accurrately (waiting on ultrasound for clarification). I might just take a week or two off until you are back. I have some vacation time to use."
This from a mom who took off 5 months and only had her older one in daycare 1 day a week while she was off for maternity. (I accommodated because it was when lots of people were getting laid off and I was hard up for clients).
HA. My intention is to take 6 weeks off minimum but I'll cross that brigde with her once I know my due date more closely! She must think this isn't a job but more of a hobby. LOL!

I only took off five days. I resented it too.
Maybe she meant "I'll take a couple of weeks off while you are gone", but didn't mean "and when my vacation is over, I'll just bring him back. Probably not, but maybe??? Or after she thinks about it she'll realize what she said was absurd?
