Hey, but it's awesome. Nothing like a little competition or exclusivity to get the forum jump started .

You ladies are funny! ...and abnormally talkative!

Don't worry though, we are still working on ways to "fix" it so everyone has the opportunity to participate. Whether that be by payment, post count, length of time on the forum or just because.......

Meanwhile, keep posting, talking, networking and enjoying the wonderfulness of the forum!

How did your posts get so high all of a sudden BC? I remember when we both use to be really close in post numbers!

MV, you and I look to be neck in neck with posts now-

I don't post a whole lot. I'm definitely new to this game and still learning. I usually just read others posts and advice. Usually my question has been asked before

I don't think my post count has jumped suddenly but a good portion of my post count is welcome posts to newbies so... I am not that talkative.

...well, yeah I am.

I only have about 4000 posts but I must say you post about 3 times as much as I do. I think I can change my post count as owner. I think I'll make it 999,909.

I'm shooting for that 10,000 mark. Trying to decide now what I will say in that one.

I think if we all ever met in person the sound would be so deafening from all the talking, we would probably not be able to meet in a restaurant or enclosed space-

Or we wouldn't know how to communicate with each other without a keyboard in front of us!

well I used to be a regular on here, but got tired of all of the bickering between everyone as well as other things that have been going on with this form. I have been a member about 2.5 years or so, but I don't think that just because a special room is going to be created that it will change any of that. THis is my first post in a few weeks and I don't think that I will plan on coming back to the form......I have only been lurking. But from the sounds of it, that won't be possible to do anymore either..

@unregistered: it's too bad you feel that way because every connection you have with people whether it be virtual or real life there will be positive and negative.

Different perspectives and opposite opinions are at the core of being human.

You can't avoid conflict unless you are solitary and even then we are hardwired to experience inner turmoil.

I am sorry you are choosing to be unregistered.

I can't be the only one who doesn't understand what this means?? What have I missed here??? I'm very confused what you all are talking about. Can someone enlighten me??

Edited:

Guess I should've done some checking before I asked this question. I figured it out. And in case there's someone else reading this who is as confused as I was, read this thread: https://www.daycare.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59638

Sorry!!

I've been posting more the last day or so and I want to believe its because I want to be at the "cool table" but really I've discovered it's because I have no life!

DH is out of down for a work "training" (don't even get me started on how annoyed about this I am), my closest friend is on vacation, and the majority of my DCKs have been out this week so far due to illness so this week is moving slow and I'm feeling a bit cut off from adult conversation and all the other boards/groups I've found are more ...cranky I guess and are just about talking crap about parents. Yes we vent here but even I get offended on some of the other boards by the things I've seen and try to avoid them now.

Anyhoo! I've got awhile before there's a chair at the cool table for me and I'm good with that! As long as there's still some good conversations here on the "regular" board!

I am just worried that the cool tabe will take away a lot of good advice for us not so cool newbies. Since it is the "cool" veterans that will be hanging over there. The idea kinda' made me uneasy as well, but I didn't take it that seriously. Newbies band together! Share your fresh ideas and expertise! JK We will surely miss out on ideas and backbone stories etc..

The thread Lucy linked to is the SECOND half of the conversation/topic.

The thread she linked to was a response to this thread: https://www.daycare.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59558

Fwiw~ ALL of the members of the private discussion thread are regular and daily posters on the whole forum.

I doubt you will see any decline in regular posting or a decrease of veterans giving advice.

I know I am on the WHOLE forum so that hasn't and won't change...at least for me.

There isn't a big private conversation or secret discussions going on that certain members are excluded from.

There is actually only one thread and it is about a personal matter NOTHING daycare related.

So just like the "cool table" at school....there really isn't as much going on there as you think there is.

I'm guilty of posting a bit more yesterday than normal. But thats because I only had 1 daycare kid plus my own 5 year old. Its worse today because I only have the 1 daycare boy while my son is at school! Just wait til I go on maternity leave in a few weeks, then I'll really be on here alot!

I want in.....

but I still want to be kept private of my name and location.

I can see someone becoming irate and spilling all my personal information over to the regular board- I have nothing to hide, I just want to maintain my privacy and feel that I can post freely under my pen name-

The forum is growing by leaps and bounds. We are doing 100% more posts then a month ago and the webinar was maxed out at 100 last night. That's is also double last years webinar.

Also, there is no guilt in being here. Your time here is considered a deduction. This is a childcare support group and learning area. We are advancing the quality of daycare globally. It's all good

This is good to know, I often feel guilty for getting my phone out an reading this forum while the kids are engaged in an activity.

FWIW, I am posting more the past few days but only because I've only had one daycare kid and a bunch of birds pooping in my backyard. .

Definitely agree with this. I've been here about the same amount of time as BC, but I don't post an awfully lot, partly because I tend to be a very private person. There have been times when I would have loved to say something or share something here but I hesitated because of the very "openness" that makes this forum great. It's nice to have that option and know it's only going to be read by people that I've "known" a long time.
