Need Advice On DCG With Odor

I'm at a loss on what else to do with this one....
dcg is 8, has been here for 5 years. Has been peeing in her pants since before I started watching her. Been to specialists, had multiple tests which all were normal, been seen by psych to no avail...he basically told mom to "ignore it, tell her to go change and move on". The full blown wetting doesn't happen at my house for some reason, but the odor will knock you down. Wetting happens at school and home, some days coming home from school after being wet all day and smelling like dead shrimp as my other dc kids say. I make her change immediately. Now it's summer and I would have to make her change multiple times some days just from the smell. I clean my bathroom numerous times a day because the smell that is left lingering. I'm thinking it's a hygiene issue, she can go to the bathroom, wipe, and wash her hands faster than the boys use the restroom. And she uses the bathroom at least 10 times per day. This is not an infection issue, this is ongoing for years. I have stressed to her the importance of making sure she wipes well after using the bathroom. I'm at a loss for what else can be done.

Poor girl, have you talked to mom about the smell? Does she get a bath every day at home?

Maybe using a thick period pad to absorb any trickles and changing it after toileting? and changing her underwear once a day?

I am a bit confused why she would continue to smell so bad if she is changing and using wipes. Does she sleep in a nasty wet bed and rarely showers? my sisters nephew wet the bed for years, and his room smelled terrible! They finally threw his matress out, tore out the carpet, and painted it all, but i still have memories of that smell!!

And i know you said its not an infection, but smelling like dead fish and the frequent trips to the bathroom make it seem like something medically may be going on. Was she checked recently by a doc for uti or yeast/bacterial infections?

What is this child's history? Was she adopted from foster care or by a relative, by chance? Kids with a history of trauma and lack of attachment have these kinds of issues commonly. Same with kids with sexual abuse histories. I'm not saying that either of these ARE the case, just wondering about background because it does affect how to deal with it.

Allowing her to bathe as needed, better undergarments/preparation/adult support and educating her on age appropriate hygiene will help tremendously.

"Mom, I know you've had her to the doctor and I know what they've suggested to you but this is an issue that needs addressed. Possibly a different physician, or one who specializes in this field would be able to provide answers to why she's having accidents and what options are available. Also, her school allowing her to wear urine soaked clothes is inexcusable. That is neglect and one I will report to social services if it happens again. I am trying to advocate for your daughter. Please help me. "

Is she full on peeing herself at school? Or does she just leak? That'd decide how I'd want to deal with teh school as her mom.

Are depends an option???

I'd provide just baby wipes, scented or not, maybe scented if they don't bother her and when she got to my house from school if she had a smell id immediately ask her to go to the restroom and id stand there with the door open of course and watch her wipe and instruct if she needed it.

i don't see what would be wrong with that, you teach littles to wipe all the time. we are here to CARE for the child and neglecting to address an issue thats been going on for some time like that isn't really CARING for the child. if they need help help them. She is a child maybe she doesn't know what she is doing when she wipes after pottying.

Agreed! And why can't this poor child wear a diaper/pullup/incontinence undies of some sort?? Absolutely ridiculous.

Does she not use pullups? I knew a girl who needed them all the time until she was 8, then still needed them at night for a couple more years.
