Heather Telesford is the Founder and Director of SocafitBK LLC , a home based, therapeutic childcare program dedicated to fostering inclusive and supportive early learning environments. Her journey to educational entrepreneurship is a testament to the power of purpose and lifelong dedication. Heather’s academic foundation is firmly rooted in public service and specialized education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Medgar Evers College, her Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Baruch College followed by a Master of Science in Education and Special Education from Touro College. This powerful combination of administrative expertise and pedagogical knowledge uniquely equips her to build and manage a program that is both operationally sound and deeply responsive to children's individual needs. Prior to pursuing her passion, Heather built a distinguished twenty-year career in Finance within cooperative America. This experience provided her with exceptional skills in fiscal management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership a robust toolkit for launching and sustaining a successful venture. A natural caregiver at heart, Heather has long been the cornerstone of support for family and friends, seamlessly extending that nurturing spirit into community childcare settings. It was there, while assisting in local programs, that she consistently received heartfelt encouragement: "You are doing an amazing job; you should open your own program." Heeding that call, Heather made the courageous decision in 2024 to synthesize her multifaceted experience her administrative acumen, her specialized education training, her financial expertise, and her innate caregiving compassion into a single, impactful mission. She channeled her dream of having a positive community impact into the reality of her own childcare program, where every child is valued, supported, and given a strong foundation to thrive.
