About A la Vanille French Immersion Preschool

ALV is known for being a friendly, happy place where children acquire French naturally through stimulating, fun activities such as art projects, music time, and gardening. While teachers speak to students in French, children respond naturally and are not required to speak any particular language. We explain this further in our tour. Children benefit from at least 2 hours of outdoor play in an enclosed yard with a real lawn, wooden play structure and vegetable garden. Hot, homemade lunch is served in our garden picnic area under the fruit trees daily. We accommodate food allergies and special diets. Our students are encouraged to gradually become more autonomous by cleaning up toys, putting away their personal items and taking turns being the class assistant for the day. All these activities are done at an age-appropriate level with warm encourament and loving support from our staff. After a family tours with us (via Zoom or in-person), their child joins our waitlist. If the parents are interested in enrollment, we offer a courtesy trial morning to evaluate their child for preschool readiness. If it looks like a good fit for everyone, the child will be invited to enroll, or pre-enroll for a future start date. The school year spans from September to June, open Monday-Thursday. In July we offer optional summer camp, open Monday-Friday. Summer camp is "a-la-carte" as children attend any days or weeks the parents enroll them in. When a family tours with us we discuss four main points: ●The ALV language immersion philosophy ●Our curriculum and how it developed ●The communication process between school and home ●We answer specific questions parents have, that we're not covered. Throughout the year we host some social events such as international potlucks, children music-time recital, honey bee presentations, a fireman visit and and an art show.
