At Henderson Christian Academy, we believe early childhood is about building strong foundations, not rushing children forward. Our Reggio Emilia–inspired curriculum encourages curiosity through hands-on learning like gardening, caring for classroom pets, and real-world exploration. Alongside academics, we focus on developing character through the fruits of the Spirit — kindness, patience, respect, and responsibility — so children grow into confident, compassionate individuals. We also think carefully about how children learn. Some skills are constrained — like letters, numbers, and facts — and can be mastered and checked off. Others are unconstrained — like curiosity, problem-solving, communication, creativity, and resilience — and continue to grow for a lifetime. While we teach both, our focus is on nurturing those unconstrained skills that give children a lasting edge long after early academics fade. We’re a locally owned, hands-on school, present every day and deeply connected to our families and community. We host regular family events and partner with the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) for practicum placements and the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) for special classes and enrichment programs that bring fresh learning experiences into our classrooms. Communication is consistent and transparent through our state-of-the-art parent app, keeping families connected to their child’s daily progress. Our teachers participate in ongoing professional development to ensure high-quality care and thoughtful, faith-guided instruction.
