This Montessori school is not accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS). The director, Erendira Doherty, is also very selectively biased. They only want perfectly behaved children. Either that, or her staff is just too inexperienced. They don't know how to handle normal child behavior, or they're too cheap to handle it. They will selectively weed out children that aren't docile enough. They did not want to deal with our son who had trouble taking naps during nap time. When I suggested to somehow stimulate him during nap time instead, either mentally or physically, I was rejected based on the argument that it would be too costly as they would have to hire more staff. She did this in a very disrespectful and condescending tone. It's clear that she does not prioritize children's development enough because of added costs. This is further exemplified by the fact that she likes to show up in her Maserati each day. She prioritizes profits too much over children's care and education. If your child is already perfectly behaved, and can nap on command, then this is the place. If you are hoping that this school will improve your child's behavior, good luck! I also showed up once unannounced and all the kids were watching cartoons on an iPad. Not very Montessori at all! There's also no food included. At the price they charge, pretty much all other comparable day cares offer food. This place does not. They also advertise Mandarin and Spanish as teaching languages. We were excited about the Mandarin and were told that they are hiring Mandarin speaking staff shortly, but they only kept hiring Spanish speaking staff. They also do all their billing through brighthweel, and this app will charge you extra for direct ACH payments to your checking account which typically doesn't cost anything, like with your utility bills. When asked if I can pay by check or cash, I was denied with the argument that the app is much easier for her to do the accounting work. You see the pattern here. There is too much cost cutting going on here. She probably wants to buy a second Maserati. They also barely send updates through their brightwheel app. Except for pictures of them playing. My son came home bleeding from his head one day, and when I asked about it they didn't know what happened. Again I have no proof of what happened, but they should at least know how it happened. The facility and location are nice though. Staff was nice, at least the original staff person who was directly involved with our son when there were only 5 or 6 toddlers or so. This place is new, and demand has been growing since we started, so they started hiring more people. The problems and complaints started arising with the new staff, so it's unclear where the growing pains are occurring, but it's clear they are experiencing growing pains and it was evident that the director's values and priorities did not sufficiently overlap with ours. There is too much cost cutting going on. I was talked to like an employee when trying to discuss concerns with our child.
