About Nurture House PGH

The mission of Nurture House is to honor children’s natural curiosity, compassion, and wonder so they may create and experience meaningful learning about the world around them and their place within it. The Reggio Emilia approach views children as capable and full of potential, encourages and celebrates family and community involvement in their child’s educational experience, views the environment as the third teacher, and utilizes intentional documentation to communicate learning and wonder to families and the community. Reggio’s founder, Loris Malaguzzi, believed children use 100 languages to learn. Nurture House uses an emergent, child-driven curriculum that celebrates our connection to nature and the world through play-based opportunities for creative expression and investigation for children ages 3 years, 8 months–6 years old (until kindergarten).
