Our mission is to provide quality childcare to our community and promote early education through our Montessori based programs. At A Caring Place, we provide developmentally appropriate environments in which children can grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. We accept children ages 6 weeks to 6 years of age. Our school was founded in 1962 by John and Sylvia Carey as The Carey School to provide the community access to quality day care and early childhood education. In 2002 the school was passed on to their daughter, Caren Leder, and two granddaughters, Tiffany Barker and Jessica Macdonald, who renamed the school A Caring Place. Today Jessica and Tiffany work together as Director and Assistant Director. A Caring Place uses the Montessori Method of education for the young child. Within this method the children experience activities in the following areas: math, language, social studies, science, art, music, and phyical education. Our classrooms are designed to both stimulate group activities and to allow the child special individual space as needed to develop.
