About Bilingual House Packard

Bilingual House is a licensed, small-capacity Mandarin-English immersion preschool and child care center serving infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in Ann Arbor. Building on a program that has served local families since 2007, we provide a warm, structured, and language-rich environment where children can feel secure, build meaningful relationships, and develop confidence. Mandarin Chinese and English are woven naturally throughout the day through songs, stories, classroom activities, meals, transitions, outdoor play, and everyday conversation. No previous Mandarin experience is required. Children learn language through meaningful interaction, repetition, and real-life experiences rather than memorization or pressure. Our program emphasizes hands-on exploration, movement, creative expression, early literacy and math, social-emotional development, and practical self-help skills. Teachers plan engaging activities while also responding to children’s interests, abilities, and developmental needs. Daily routines are designed to help children become increasingly independent, communicate their needs, solve problems, participate in a group, and build positive friendships. Because we maintain a small-group setting, our teachers are able to know each child well and provide attentive, individualized support. We work to balance nurturing care with purposeful learning, giving children time to play, explore, ask questions, practice new skills, and grow at their own pace. We value close partnerships with families and communicate openly about each child’s experiences, progress, needs, and accomplishments. Families receive regular updates and are encouraged to share information that helps us provide consistent, responsive care. Our goal is to create a caring school community where children feel known, respected, and excited to learn. At Bilingual House, children grow together through language, play, exploration, and caring relationships.
