About Monmouth Day Care Center

Monmouth Day Care Center is committed to a developmentally appropriate program for infants and young children. As a developmentally appropriate program, Monmouth Day Care Center is child-centered and play oriented. Some knowledge can be taught in the traditional sense, but much knowledge cannot—it must instead be discovered and learned through experience. Our curriculum is designed to allow for exposure to many different areas of learning in an eco-friendly-healthy environment. The activities may be structured or unstructured, individual or group. Each day’s activities will include a variety of projects and experiences. Monmouth Day Care Center utilizes Creative Curriculum. In conjunction with Creative Curriculum, MDCC uses Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment tool. This tool is used by the staff to evaluate and track each child’s individual development during his/her time at MDCC. It is an ongoing assessment system, meaning that teachers are continually watching, observing, and documenting each child’s development. By tracking each child’s development staff are able to plan activities that are appropriate for each child’s developmental abilities. Based on our professional experience, young children learn best through play. In this way, children acquire positive feelings about school, the world around them, and most importantly, about themselves.
